While biking home from Geyeserville, I spotted this weathered water tower overlooking a vineyard. Wooden water towers are scattered around Sonoma County, most built about 100 years ago. Back then, water was pumped out of the ground using a windmill, then stored for later use in a tank at the top of the tower.
