For three years, Boggs, a 5-foot-7

forward, played on the varsity, but she never had a spot in the starting

lineup.

This season, she's finally a starter, proving that good things come to

those who wait.

Boggs had 15 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists in

Petaluma's 63-51 win against Windsor, a victory that clinched the SCL title

for the 21-5 Trojans.

''She's handled (not starting) very well,'' Petaluma coach Doug Johnson

said. ''And it's paying off this year.''

Indeed, Boggs is averaging six points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5

assists a game entering the postseason.

She admits her first three years were, at times, frustrating. But she

wouldn't change the ending.

''It's been perfect,'' she said. ''This was definitely the best year.''
