Town Green playground expansion meeting on Feb. 13
Find out about plans to expand the Town Green Park playground to make it accessible to youth of all abilities and development levels at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting Feb. 13.
The expansion will add enhanced and inclusive play elements to the two existing structures designed for children 2 to 5 years old and 5 to 12 years old.
The Windsor Parks and Recreation Foundation plans to raise money for the $200,000 expansion. So far the Town Council has contributed $15,000 for design work, and the Windsor Rotary Club has pledged $25,000.
The proposed additions include shade structures, seat walls that contain donor tiles, engraved brick pavers that replace the decomposed granite walkway parallel to the timeline walk and a state-of-the art social and play hub for youth and parents.
After public comment on the proposals, the Parks and Recreation Commission will make a recommendation to the Town Council on March 20.
The Parks and Recreation Foundation will then start raising money and selling naming rights for playground areas and, or individual play equipment pieces.
The 6 p.m. Feb. 13 meeting is at the Town Hall Council Chambers (Building 400) at 9291 Old Redwood Highway.
