Wanted: Talent for local show

Wednesday, December 12th, 2012 | Posted by | no responses

If you’ve got talent, one local organization has got your next gig all set up.

The Windsor Performing Arts Academy is currently scouting local talent for a local talent show that will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Mary Agatha Furth Center on Old Redwood Highway.

“We are looking for skits, bands, singing, juggling, dancing, monologues, acrobatics, lip syncing, Rollerblading, gymnastics, instrumentals, poetry, anything,” said event organizer Heather Cullen.

“Anyone can participate, from age 3 to 103. This is our first time doing this but we plan to make it a Windsor tradition,” she said.

The group hopes to attract 20 acts to its show, to which tickets will cost $20. Proceeds will provide scholarships for students to participate in summer programs and allow the group to put on musicals at local schools.

“We did ‘Grease’ at Brooks Elementary last year. It was so fun. We’re doing ‘Phantom Tollbooth’ there this year,” said Cullen.

Windsor Performing Arts Academy is a local organization where people of all ages can find opportunities “to learn, refine, and share their talents and skills in a safe and happy environment.”

Interested parties can visit windsorperformingarts.net for more information or to arrange an audition.
