Today, is a “Kids Dig It Club” day at the Farmers Market. There will be hands-on demonstrations on how to have fun with persimmons and pomegranates. If you like to play basketball, the Parks & Recreation Dept. has a perfect way for you to burn off calories from those big holiday meals. On Monday, the women play drop-in hoops at Huerta Gym (9291 Old Redwood Highway). Then Tuesday, it’s the men’s turn. Both sessions go from 8 to 10 p.m. and there is a $3 charge per player. This program is ongoing.
Thursday is the Winter Wine Walk, the annual fundraiser for Windsor Service Alliance. Attendees will receive a souvenir glass and tickets for 12 winery and food tastings at businesses near the green The hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets, at $35 each, can be purchased at Atrellis Flower and Gift Shop (816 McClelland Dr.) and Images (9061 Windsor Road). Thursday is also Dining Out For Life Day and two Windsor restaurants–Chinois Asian Bistro and Ume’ Japanese Bistro–are participating. These businesses are donating 25 per cent of the day’s receipts to AIDS organizations. Chinois is located at 186 Windsor River Rd. and the phone is 838-4667. Young LEGO fans are invited to the Windsor Library (9291 Old Redwood Highway) at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Bricks will be provided. This is for ages six-to-12 and there is no charge.
