Plan to expand Windsor Town Green play area
The recently-formed Windsor Parks and Recreation Foundation has earmarked expansion of the town green play area as its first project and will present its ideas on Thursday at Cafe Noto, 630 McClelland Dr.
The board of directors will be at the cafe from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a informational presentation at 6:45 p.m.
The nonprofit has set a goal of $200,000 for expansion of the playground. So far, the local Rotary Club has contributed $25,000 and the town has pledged $15,000.
According to foundation president Warin Parker, the expansion will improve accessibility for disabled youngsters and also provide a modern social and play hub for the town’s youth.
Serving on the board are: Parker, Kimberly Walton, Mary Burns, Stan Champman, Elanor Armstrong, Uriel Brena, Michael Brook, David Brown, Bethany Browning, Tina Castelli, Christine Chavez, Steve Lehmann, Brad Sherwood, Diana Ramirez and Martha Nunez.
