Charlie’s Restaurant donates meals to women’s shelter
For the third year in a row, Charlie’s Restaurant at Windsor Golf Club provided Thanksgiving meals to the women and children living at Sloan House Women’s Shelter in Santa Rosa.
The transitional shelter is managed by Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County.
“I can’t thank the staff and management of Charlie’s enough for all they have done to bring some comfort to the many people we have at the shelter,” board member Melody Montero said. “Their actions are a perfect example of how we all can look to help those who are a little less fortunate at this time of the year.”
Montero is the founder of Sloan Angels, an ad hoc committee of people who have responded to the various needs of the shelter and its occupants.
The Sloan Angels participate with Charlie’s Restaurant during the year through a fundraising effort where diners are introduced to the work of Sloan House, and a portion of the proceeds from the evening go to the shelter.
