Moxies celebrates its first anniversary
One year ago, Angie Boudro and Melissa Jinks opened Moxies Frozen Yogurt on Brooks Rd. So. We asked Jinks a few questions about the experience to-date.
What inspired you to open a frozen yogurt shop?
Angie and I were first roommates in grad school, then became sisters-in-law and now business partners.
We both love frozen yogurt and we wanted to create a shop that offered exceptional yogurt and high quality toppings. We also wanted a fun, unique environment that the community would enjoy. We wanted to be an asset to any community we are part of.
How has the community responded to the store?
We have thoroughly loved being in the Windsor community and feel Moxies has had great support. We try to give that support back by being involved in local organizations, especially the schools. We have amazing employees, many of whom are local high school students.
Where did the name Moxies come from?
Moxies is something we came up with because it was different and it captures what we want to be all about. Moxie is an older word that means energy, spirit, courage and vigor. We want our customers to feel this same energy and vigor as they enjoy a healthy yogurt in the Moxie’s atmosphere.
What makes Moxies unique?
The quality of our yogurt is unbeatable. We strive to have the freshest toppings and offer local products whenever possible. Moxies is typically very busy over the weekend and on week nights. We think this is because we offer a great product and fun environment.
